| | tired | ] | Well, the countdown to Baby's birth is on, seven more days to go to the official due date of 6/27, but it could really be any day now. So, F-list, if you don't see any comments from me for some time from now on, it's because I've got my hands full of newborn! :) Same thing for IM's - if I'm not around, it's for the same reason. A new momma has to catch her sleep any which way she can. For the same reason there also pretty much won't be any writing from me for a while. I know that's probably going to frustrate me some, because I still have quite a few ideas for my Mithrandos/Kandaar fantasy chapters as well as my current Ninja Storm WIP, but I don't know how much I can get done before Baby arrives and I certainly don't know if I can get any writing done afterwards. Oh well, I guess I'll just have to see... Anyways, I'm going to put my swollen feet up now, I feel like a fluid-filled blimp, and it's going to be nice getting my body back ;) But of course the thing I'm going to look forward to the most is meeting my little guy soon!!! Talk to you all later. Hugs from Dany
Oh, on another note: Hubby finally found a job! As an IT engineer. And now that this position is pretty much lined up and a sure thing, he got two more e-mails and calls with job offers! How ironic is that!?!?!?! |

Good luck with the new baby! *smiles and gives a thumbs up* We'll miss you!
Thanks, sweetie, I'm sure I'll miss being around after a while, too. Good thing we live in my mother-in-law's house right now, and this comes with 'built-in' evening babysitting :)
Ich wünsche dir alles Gute und dass die Geburt ohne Komplikationen abläuft. :-)
Vielen Dank!! Mein Erstgeborener kam so ziemlich ohne Probleme, also hoffe ich auf eine Wiederholung :)
Good luck, dear! 27/6 is my favorite day of the year (met hubby back in 1971, got my driver's license in 1974, got married in 1981), so hopefully it'll be as happy for you! *hugs*
Also, yay on job! You go, guys!
He, he, he, one of my best friend's birthday is that day, too, so she's hoping for a due-day birth. As far as I'm concerned, that little guy can come out any time he feels like from now on ;) And yeah, I'm glad about the job, and the best thing is that hubby doesn't have to start until 7/10, so he'll be around 24/7 to help out until the birth and afterwards.
*grins* When my son was due (February 10) and didn't make it (he's STILL habitually late), I got three meaningful dates to look forward to: Feb. 12 (expectant great-grandmother's birthday), Feb. 13 (a Friday; I finally went into labor) and Feb. 14 -- Gerrit was born at 1.22am on Valentine's day. :)
And oh yeah -- when I went to my two-days-past-due-date checkup and my ob/gyn told me it might be "anytime now -- or maybe in a week", I could've strangled him. Cheerfully. I was WAY past ready!
And good thing for hubby being around to help those first days! Good luck!
*hugs* Good luck with the baby. ♥ And hey, good news on the job as well. :)
Thanks, sweetie, I'm definitely hoping that all will work out just fine - birth and job :)
*crosses fingers and toes for you* :D
I'll bet you can't wait! We're going to want baby pics, you know.
It really figures that more job offers have come in now - that's the way it always seems to work!
oh you know you'll get pics :) I even told my mother who's a complete computer virgin, to ask the neighbor to set her up an e-mail account on his computer so I can e-mail her pics rather than send them the old-fashioned postal way.
I hated the last few weeks before my second was born...kept hoping she'd come early but, no, she arrived on her due date (with 9 mins to spare)
Sit back, put your feet up and RELAX while you can because those new little people can be VERY demanding!
Congratulations :-)
Tell me about it! I'm ready for the little guy to make his arrival any day now. The earlier the better ;) And I'm trying to rest all I can right now, because if this second little guy is anything like his big brother (who is 6), he'll throw all the 'newborn rules' in the wind. You know the ones where new babies are supposed to sleep 18 hours a day? Pffft, never happened with my first son...
LOL! Mine are only 2 years apart and NEITHER of them slept through the night. I would alternate between the two of them for the next 3 years until I'd almost forgotten what it was like to sleep uninterrupted for more than ONE hour at a time!
They are better now...once I can convince them that they really ought to be in bed!
You will have to watch for the sibling jealousy as big brother might not like baby taking up all his mom's attention :-)
Sleeping through the night? Didn't happen for us until Gerrit started school. All my friends' kids snored happily away after 9 months; I had 2.5 years of getting up each night until he figured out how to turn on a light and toddle into the bedroom to sleep in our bed. *sigh* | |
