| Mother's Day |
[May. 10th, 2008|11:39 pm] |
I WOULD LIKE TO WISH ALL THE MOTHERS ON MY F-LIST A WONDERFUL MOTHER'S DAY!!
Bask in the recognition you all so very much deserve, and let your family do for you for one day all the things you do for them the other 364 days of the year!
He, he, he, my request for Mother's Day was 2 hours of peace and solitude. No kids, no chores, only time for myself to do a few things I don't get to do much anymore. Mainly doing some reading and writing. So hubby is taking the boys out somewhere (I don't even care where to as long as they GO), while I lounge around and finally get some work done on my current WIP. Yay, I can't wait :) |

| Met the ladies |
[Apr. 14th, 2008|09:59 pm] |
Yesterday I met cmar and <lj user="germankitty> for lunch in Manhattan! It was so nice seeing Cmar again after nearly a year, and Germankitty is just as sweet as I had imagined her to be. We ate and talked and must have gone through two dozen subjects in a little under two hours. Unfortunately then I had to run off to catch my bus back to the Pennsylvania boonies, where hubby and Baby were waiting for me after 6 hours by themselves. (Thankfully, they managed that just fine)
In the meantime, my resourceful mother-in-law, who had taken Junior to Build-a-bear workshop while I was lunching, kept the bus from leaving until I got there by acting as if she couldn't find her bus ticket. Gotta love her :)
Ladies, I had a great time with you, and I hope I didn't chew off your ears too badly ;) I don't get out much, you know.
Hope you're both feeling better by now!! |

| So much for the house |
[Mar. 6th, 2008|10:40 am] |
Well, looks like I've cheered too soon. The house we thought we had.....we had already started the paperwork for the sale, but the sellers haven't actually signed them yet, only verbally accepted our offer. So yesterday our realtor gets a call from their realtor that they got a higher offer on the house, and that they are going to accept that one unless we increase our offer. And since we don't want to play the bidding war game, we're going to have to let that house go. I am beyond upset at this whole situation, and also sick and tired of searching for houses. Hubby is once again talking about packing up and moving back to Vegas (since the housing market is flooded there), and I'm just tired, tired, tired. Of everything. What's going to happen now? Who knows........... |

| Men! How do they survive? |
[Nov. 28th, 2007|12:20 pm] |
First up, to all the males on my f-list: Please don't take this personally! I just need to vent right now...
But seriously - how do men as a species survive? Simple! Because they were/are being raised by women! This morning I asked my 20-year old brother-in-law to take Alex Jr. to school because Baby Daniel was running a temperature. Now, Junior is in 2nd grade, which means he has been going to school 5 days a week for about 2 years. And this morning, because I wasn't there to remind him, he forgot his bookbag. Honestly, the kid would forget his head if it wasn't stuck to his neck!!!! He is so scatterbrained, I have to constantly remind him of things that should be a firm part of his daily routine, like brushing his teeth, etc. I'm so tired of this!! As for my brother-in-law: You are taking your nephew to school. It didn't strike you as odd that he left the house without his bookbag??? The man has school smarts only, it seems. When it comes to Real Life, I could feed him to the chickens for all his uselessness. So I put my feverish baby in the car, drive to the school, drop off his bag. Then I go get groceries for dinner tonight, try to calm fussy baby once home again, clean up and do as much as I can around the house as long as he is mellow, try to get in some online Christmas gift shopping, do laundry and research several areas of New Jersey for our house search. And then I get an MSN IM from dear husband at work saying: Where are you? I've been waiting for you to come online! And I can't even crawl back into bed and pull the covers over my head because now Baby is hungry........

| My, look at the time... |
[Nov. 15th, 2007|11:29 pm] |
Wow, I can't believe it's been over 3 months since I last posted an entry. Where has the time gone? Well, Baby Daniel is by now 4 1/2 months old and completely rules the house. He's a lot of work, but such a joy.
Check out my cool new picture, everyone. Courtesy of my good friend Cmar *Thank you so much, sweetie!*
But I have to be honest, I'm glad I'm not working right now - 2 kids and a job, even part time - would be too much right now. Between house chores, caring for my own two sons and my goddaughter and house hunting for a place of our own in New Jersey, I'm pretty busy. Thankfully there's a big selection of houses out there right now, so we should definitely be able to find something nice at a good price. *Sigh* I've been feeling down about my parents lately, though. They have yet to see their second grandson, and that is really getting to me. I feel the need to pack up and fly to Germany, even if it's only for a week or so. Junior is out of school for 2 weeks in December. Maybe, just maybe, I might be able to squeeze that in... |
